Approach
Like core practitioner training, my approach to clinical supervision is integrative and largely theoretically relational.
My chosen model in training was Page & Wosket’s Cyclical Model which places emphasis on several relational aspects of clinical supervision: the supervisory relationship, supervisee-client relationship, and the interplay between the two. The model also acts as a useful framework or stage model for the supervisory process, creating safety and structure for effective and safe working.
I do not believe that clinical supervision should be imposing or authoritative – it’s my experience that this is rarely useful! I aim to provide a safe and encouraging space for development. Like my own therapeutic practice, I find that taking the time to build a trusting, warm, collaborative relationship where we can reflect together about your practice is a necessary starting point for this.
Who I work with
I work with qualified and trainee counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists, and related health and social care professionals. Although my own approach is largely relational and integrative, I have experience working with supervisee’s who practice from a variety of approaches and modalities.
